Other Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I sign up?  Two methods of registration are offered this year.  Online and Onsite.  The registration period for both methods is September 16th – Dec 3rd.  Onsite registration will be located at the Sportsplex front office at 405 Lynn Lane on the dates listed above. If you would like to utilize our Online registration, you may do so by clicking here

How do I find out what team my child is on?    In order to insure proper communication between parents and coaches, PLEASE provide a current/working telephone number  on your child’s registration form.  We also ask for an email address on your registration form for the coaches convenience; however, they are asked to initially establish contact by telephone.  Coaches will call his/her team members within 72 hours of receiving his/her roster (Approximately completed on December 10th).  If you do not get a phone call from a coach within 72 hours of December 10th, you may contact our office at 662-323-2294 to inquire about your child’s placement on a team.

How often will my child have practice?  SPRD will schedule two (2) practices in the Sportsplex Gym for your child’s team.  Coaches are allowed up to 3 additional practices throughout the season.  Any additional practice that is not scheduled by SPRD is scheduled by the coach at his/her discretion.

When will my child receive his/her uniform?  SPRD will have uniform shirts for the coach to pick up before the first scheduled game.  Typically, coaches pick up his/her team uniforms the day of the first scheduled game and will issue shirts (according to size indicated on registration form) prior to game time on the first game day.  SPRD only provides uniform tops (cotton short sleeved t-shirt).  We do not require a certain color uniform bottom; however, it is typical for teams to decide amongst themselves what color/style shorts to wear as part of the uniform.

What do I do if my child’s shirt does not fit?  First suggestion, make sure you were issued the size that was ordered for your child (which will be reflected on the team roster that is issued to the coach).  Second, see if someone on your child’s team could possibly trade in order to fulfill the needs of a uniform for each child.  Better a shirt be too big than too small.  Lastly, if you are still dissatisfied with your child’s uniform shirt, please contact our office with your child’s name, team name, and desired size at 662-323-2294.  Please allow up to 10 business days for a replacement shirt to arrive.  We strongly urge that you make absolute certain of the size your child will need and place that size on your registration form.

How do the rules differ among age divisions?  SPRD has revised the rules and regulations for the youth basketball program.  We strongly suggest you make yourself familiar with these rules and regulations.  You may download a copy of the current rules and regulations by clicking here.
