*NEW* State of the Parks Initiative

Objective: Address current and future parks planning for all park-sites within the City of Starkville so that all citizens understand their closest park, included amenities and future possibilities.
Method: Solicit feedback from the entire city, organized by Ward, via in-person, electronic and paper surveys and discussion.
Timeline: In-Person meetings with each Ward by March 1, Paper and online surveys open through March 1.
Summary: In an effort to address the “State of the Parks” for the entire City of Starkville, we (Starkville Parks and Recreation Department) would like to conduct in-person meetings with citizens. In an effort to organize the meetings, we have worked with each Alderman to schedule at least one in-person meeting with each Ward. Additionally, we plan to survey all citizens, with paper surveys available at the Parks and Recreation office through March 1, as well as conduct the surveys online. Feedback will be concentrated on the available amenities within the current parks system, future amenities that citizens would like to see within their closest park, and other ways their quality of life can be improved.
